We are passionate about educating children about caring for animals – both big and small, wild and domestic.

The education center at our project LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary is the perfect place to go if you want to know more about our big cats. Our educator Gladys regularly hosts groups of bright young minds and educates them on the behavior of wild animals in captivity and in the wild, and how wild animals should always be respected. Youngsters are also privileged to see the big cats at LIONSROCK from the education center and bridge area close by, and if they are lucky to visit on a feeding day, kids can see how these majestic creatures are fed.

If you would like to book a school group to visit our education center, please contact our Education Facilitator Gladys via email: Gladys.Mokwena@four-paws.org

For more information on our educational visits, please see below:

A few important points to please take note of:

  • Indemnity forms should please be completed, and signed, and must be handed to the FOUR PAWS educator/representative on arrival at the education centre at LIONSROCK.
  • We can only accommodate 60 learners per visit, per day. This is for safety, security and educational reasons.
  • We do not allow any alcohol, music, littering, or braai fires on the premises.
  • All schools to arrange their own transport, unless otherwise arranged with educator.
  • All schools responsible for own payment of transport to and from LIONSROCK.
  • Any meals provided by FOUR PAWS and LIONSROCK will be animal-friendly. Why? Our food choices have a direct impact on the lives of animals, our health and the planet. FOUR PAWS is dedicated to raising awareness about how we can help animals by making more compassionate food choices.
